Presenting Dhrupad  music in Jugalbandi  (Duet performance )  has been a very important feature of Dagar Tradition.

Ustad Zakiruddin Khan  and his younger brother Ustad Allabande Khan  (d. 1926) who was the court musician in Alwar , another well –known center  in Rajasthan , were much renowned for their  rendition of alap, their Jugalbandi  and profound musical knowledge.  Esteemed by other musicians  and connoisseurs as eminent figures  in the Dhrupad world , they were invariably  given a great deal of attention  and respect in musical meetings and gatherings.  Their musicianship and  performance is considered a great achievement of the 20th century.

Ustad Nasir Moinuddin Dagar & Ustad Nasir Aminuddin Dagar

After independence, The senior Dagar Brothers - Ustad  Nasir Moinuddin Dagar and Ustad Nasir  Aminuddin dagar ( son of Ustad Nasiruddin Dagar  and grand son of Ustad Allabande Khan)  made a significant presence in  music world.  They were popularly known as  Dagar Brothers. Their efforts to take Indian music to abroad and to popularize Dhrupad music after independence  made  a history.  They performed Dhrupad all over the world  in early  sixties.  It was their presence in Indian music scenario  which made possible  the revival of   Dhrupad music  in present times. 


Ustad N.Z.Dagar & Ustad N.F.Dagar

After the death of  Ustad Nasir Moinuddin Dagar in 1966, his younger brothers  Nasir Zahiruddin Dagar and  Nasir Faiyazuddin dagar  became  very popular duet performers.   To a great extend, the credit  for popularizing  Dhrupad music go to them. They established  Dhrupad society in Delhi  and also performed Dhrupad at many national and international places.


Gundecha Brothers

At present  the Gundecha Brothers  are performing Dhrupad in Jugalbandi  in Dagar Tradition and trying their best to  reach a wider audience.
